Cell Trends assembles custom hollow fiber (HF) bioreactor systems using proprietary designs and artificial capillary cell culture methodology.
Available in three cartridge sizes, our systems boost production of monoclonal antibodies, recombinant proteins, and adenoviral vectors,
for example, to phenomenal levels. Cells are inoculated into the extracapillary space (ECS) of the cartridge and settle on the outer
surface of a network of capillaries. Growth media circulating through the capillaries allow nutrients and oxygen to diffuse through the
capillary walls to nourish the cells. Similarly, metabolic waste diffuses away from the cells and is diluted into the circulating
media. Secreted products are preserved in the ECS, thereby maintaining a stable environment that approximates in vivo conditions.

- Low MWCO (5kd) fiber size can produce 100 µg/ml of recombinant protein in 15 ml of ECS harvest
- High MWCO (20kd) fiber size can produce 50-100 mg of monoclonal antibody every 2 days
- Both able to support up to 109 cells
- Low MWCO (5kd) fiber size can produce 100 µg/ml of recombinant protein in 70 ml of ECS harvest
- High MWCO (20kd) fiber size can produce 75-150 mg of monoclonal antibody every 2 days

Our HF Bioreactor technical team will work with you to select the cartridge size appropriate for your cell
line and secreted product. A quotation will be provided for the initial set up of your system as well as for the weekly maintenance
and an estimate of harvest volumes per week.
